Accomodation
And now, at last, to bed.
We’ve upgraded most of our 130 elegant guestrooms and the results are sublime. There’s a lot of that familiar American walnut and those interesting fabrics in pinks, greens, aubergines but, look, we’ve changed things around, subtly but incredibly elegantly (of course).
There’s marble here and big headboards there, behind that oh-so-wonderfully inviting bed draped in crisp white Egyptian linen, a half-dozen pillows, snuggly duvets and you’re off, sinking into a peaceful, first class, slumber.
So what else is new? You might find a Nespresso machine in your room and over there is an antique glass mirror. The TV is bigger now too and what’s this? A utility box with useful things like menus and the remote control. There’s complimentary high speed Wi-Fi and the sound system connects to your device by Bluetooth, which is a nice touch.
This is what a five star room should be: An oasis of comfort. Somewhere to escape, a cocoon, if you will.
The only difficulty at The Fitzwilliam Hotel Belfast is deciding which of our guestrooms to choose.
